About
I spent my twenties as a photojournalist, which taught me two things: how to find the picture in a room full of noise, and how to be invisible while doing it. Weddings turned out to be the best assignment of all, because everyone in the room has a reason to be there.
I shoot with two small cameras, no flash where I can help it, and a second photographer for anything over eight hours. I edit everything myself, at a desk that looks out over the river.
When I'm not working I'm walking the dog, reading about typography, or planning a trip somewhere with better light.
The day is the story. I follow it rather than rebuilding it for the camera.
Twenty minutes of portraits, gently guided, so you have pictures of the two of you that feel like you.
Every wedding ends with a proper album. Screens are fine; paper lasts.
